It is not binding order reservation in this step. It is demand only. In the second step of reservation process hotel will be request reservation guarantee for confirmation of binding reservation. Hotels require credit card details for group reservation. Hotels may require preauthorized payment or one night stay deposit for each room/apartment up to deposit (advance payment) for all stay.

If you decide to make a group binding reservation, you should be ready for credit card details guarantee. In other way the reservation department is uselessly busy with demand for accommmodation which is never realized.
