Hotel Clementin Old Town

Location

Situated in the centre of the beautiful Old Town Quarter, at the crossroads of ancient and modern Prague, the Hotel is an ideal starting point for discovering and enjoying the city. Everything is within easy walking distance: churches, palaces, restaurants, pubs, discos, shops, theaters, concerts, opera.

Accommodation
The Hotel Clementin, Prague’s narrowest surviving building, is an integral part of the city’s history. Built as a town - house around 1360, it retains many of its original gothic features as well as those of subsequent reconstruction: renaissance, baroque, and finally classicist.

Recently converted to a hotel, the building has been thoroughly modernized to the highest standart. The nine rooms (total capacity 20 beds) are air - conditioned, each with a bathroom, WC, telephone, satellite TV, radio, minibar, safe, and possible connection to the Internet .

House No. 176/4 At the Virgin Mary from the year of around 1360 later also called "At Our Nice Lady".  Three-storey house, set in a crooked Seminarská street - this irregularity shows a very old origin of the street and houses located there.

Building history of this house is uncertain, lay-out of the city, however, shows that the house was developed by a supplementary division of a larger neighbouring building. Current look of the exterior and interior is a result of modern modification of late classicist facade. The oldest part of the house is a

Gothic cellar with an unusual massive wall, where also a part of a stony, certainly medieval vault, remained preserved. Until 1433 the house was obviously part of the neigbouring house No.175, whose part was probably the cellar space. It is not possible to exclude that in the 16th Century frontal part to

Semarská street was built up, where there was probably a narrow street between the houses. After following connection with number 175 in 1627 the house had the same facade. Renmaissance construction corresponds with an overlapping floor over the ground floor. Probably in the 17th or at the beginning of the 18th Century, the house became totally independent. At that time the house was increased by a 3rd floor. The entry into the house is framed by the sand-stone Baroque ribbon portal with a transom light.

D1 Praha (Prague) - Brno - Vyškov - (Hulín - Přerov - Lipník nad Bečvou) Follow direction Praha "Centrum", go on "Nuselský most" bridge, after Legerova Street follow direction "Plzeň" turn left to "Žitná" Street which slopes downwards and on "Karlovo Náměstí" square go straight which brings you to the riverbank. By the river turn right and go along it for 200 meters, then go slightly right to "Divadelní" Street and it brings you after 100 meters back on the river bank. After another 200 meters turn right to the "Na Zábradlí" Street. Go on Streets "Anenská", then turn to the left to "Liliová" Street and first to the right "Karlova" Street and the first to the left is finally "Seminářská" Street, where our hotel is situated (3rd house on the right).

D5 Praha(Prague) - Plzeň - Německo (Germany) Follow direction Praha "Centrum". Entering the city centre go on Street "Plzeňská", passing hotel Mövenpick, after which you have to turn right to "Radlická" Street, then turn left to "Ostrovského" Street, which brings you to the riverbank.Turn to the left and cross the river over "Jiráskův most" bridge (first possible bridge). On the other riverbank turn to the left, go straight along the Vltava river for 250 meters, then go slightly right to "Divadelní" Street and it brings you after 100 meters back on the river bank. After another 200 meters turn right to the "Na Zábradlí" Street. Go on streets "Anenská", then turn to the left "Liliová" Street and first to the right "Karlova" Street and the first to the left is finally "Seminářská" Street, where our hotel is situated (3rd house on the right).

D8 Praha(Prague) - Ústí nad Labem - Německo (Germany) Follow direction Praha "Centrum", cross the river over "Most Barikádníků" bridge and go straight "Argentinská" Street, which brigs you to the riverbank, go along the river (along "Nábřeží Kapitána Jaroše" street then " Nábřeží Edvarda Beneše" Street) and cross the river over second bridge - "Čechův most" which brings you to the other riverbank. Here turn to the right to "Dvořákovo nábřeží" and after 50 meters turn left and again turn right and go along "17. Listopadu" Street (then "Křížovnická street"), pass The Charles Bridge and after 100 meters turn left to the "Na Zábradlí" Street turn. Go on Streets "Anenská", then turn to the left "Liliová" Street and first to the right "Karlova" Street and the first to the left is finally "Seminářská" Street, where our hotel is situated (3rd house on the right).

D11 Praha(Prague) - Hradec Králové - Trutnov - Polsko (Poland) At the end of motorway D11 Direction "Teplice" and "Praha-Černý most", then take the next slip-road direction "Praha-Centrum". You will be on "Chlumecká" Street and follow direction "Centrum" on next big crossroad and you will turn slightly to the left to the "Poděbradská" Street. Go along this street for about 4 km, then turn to the left to the "Sokolovská" Street and go along it for 2 km, then you have to turn right and immediately left and go along this Street ("Rohanské nábřeží" street) for about 1,8 km (it will be along the river bank). After "Čechův most" bridge go another 50 meters and turn left and then again turn left and go along "17. listopadu" Street (then "Křížovnická Street"), pass The Charles Bridge and after 100 meters turn left to the "Na Zábradlí" Street. Go on Streets "Anenská", than turn to the left "Liliová" and first to the right "Karlova" Street and the first to the left is finally "Seminářská" Street, where our hotel is situated (3rd house on the right).
