Pension Valton

The Pension Valton guesthouse is located on the edge of Malá Strana, one of the most beautiful and remarkable of old Prague's quarters. It is situated in a quiet street, only two tram stops from the Anděl shopping centre. The city centre can be easily reached within 15 minutes using Prague's public transport system. The "U ZVONU" tram stop is only approx. 80 meters far from the guesthouse. All of the most remarkable sites and monuments can also be reached comfortably on foot. For example, it will take you approx. 20 minutes to walk to the National Theatre, and a walk through the Kinsky Gardens to Prague Castle will last about 40 minutes.

The guesthouse is a renovated building originally built at the end of the 18th or the beginning of the 19th century. Unfortunately, original building documents did not survive to the present. In the 19th century, the building served as a monastery, in the 20th century it was rebuilt into small flats with the yard being used by craftsmen. The present owner bought the house in a very bad condition in 1991. In 1993, the third floor was added to the building with 8 rooms designed for use in the guesthouse. Currently, the guesthouse offers accommodation in 3 rooms.

The guesthouse category is * *, which means that each room has its own toilet and shower but offers no electronic equipment (such as a TV set, phone, minibar, etc.). Cold buffet breakfast is served in a stylish dining room, but the guesthouse does not have its own restaurant. However, guests are cordially invited to our small café. The reception offers money exchange services and a safe deposit box; guests can also make phone calls from here or buy maps and small gifts. The reception staff can also book sightseeing tours, trips to the countryside, tickets to cultural events or for river cruises.

The whole guesthouse is furnished with historical furniture evoking an atmosphere of the past. The furniture is original, making every room slightly different. The reception is also used as a small gallery showing paintings by Czech painters of the first half of the 20th century. The rooms are furnished in a simple way, but the historic furniture and paintings give them a pleasant and friendly atmosphere. Most of our rooms are located on the third floor and because there is no lift, guests might wish to consider booking specifically a room on the ground floor.

A cold buffet breakfast is included in the price. If you have special requirements (special diet, vegetarian food, etc.), please let us know in advance with your booking.
Because of our city centre location, we unfortunately cannot offer on-site parking. Therefore we arrange parking at a private parking place approx. 10 minutes walking distance from the guesthouse and guests are asked book parking with us in advance. Guests requiring parking without prior booking cannot be guaranteed a free place.

We are a family-run guesthouse with only 12-hour reception service from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Therefore, guests can check in only between 1 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. If you want to check in shortly after 8 p.m. when arriving by evening trains or planes, please arrange with us in advance. Thank you for your understanding.

a) From the central train station:
Take tram number 9 in the direction of ŘEPY. Go 12 stops to the "U ZVONU" stop, then walk up Mahenova street and turn right at the top. The guesthouse is on the right side, approx. 80 - 100 meters from the tram stop. The whole journey from the train station takes approx. 30 minutes. A taxi from the central train station to the guesthouse costs CZK 300 - 350.
b) From the Holešovice train station:
Take tram number 12 in the direction of SMÍCHOV, change at ANDĚL to tram number 4, 7, 9 or 10 in the direction of ŘEPY and get off at the second stop, "U ZVONU". Then walk up Mahenova street and turn right at the top. The guesthouse is on the right side, approx. 80 - 100 meters from the tram stop. Approximate journey time: 45 minutes. A taxi from the Holešovice train station to the guesthouse costs CZK 400 - 450.
c) From the airport
Use the ČEDAZ Czech Airlines transfer service for Prague visitors (white minibuses seating eight people). The fare is CZK 480 to any part of the city center. Approximate journey time: 30 minutes.
d) Coming by car from Nürnberg (Germany):
Use the Plzeň (Pilsen) - Praha motorway and go to its very end on the outskirts of Prague, then follow the signs for MOTOL and CENTRUM. Use Plzenska, Vrchlického and Duškova streets down to the MOVENPICK hotel. When you come to the hotel, join the left lane and turn back in the direction of PLZEŇ. After you pass two blocks of houses on the left you will see a church with a cemetery - once you pass the church, turn right to Erbenova street and then immediately left again to Holečkova street. From this crossroads, the guesthouse is only approx. 100 meters on the left-hand side. Please look out for the guesthouse carefully; Holečkova is a one-way street and if you miss the guesthouse, you will need to drive around the whole block again.
e) Coming by car from Dresden (Germany)
Use the Lovosice - Praha motorway and go right to the city center. You will pass the museum at the top end of Wenceslas' square. On the next crossroads, turn right in the direction of PLZEŇ to the street sloping down, follow the main road in the direction of PLZEŇ, cross the Vltava river and pass the Nový Smíchov and Carrefour shopping centers and pass viaducts on your left and keep going until the MOVENPICK hotel appears on your left. Do not turn here, keep going in the direction of PLZEŇ. After you pass two blocks of houses on the left you will see a church with a cemetery - once you pass the church, turn right to Erbenova street and then immediately left again into Holečkova street. From this crossroads, the guesthouse is only approx. 100 meters on the left-hand side. f) Coming by car from Brno
Stay on the motorway from Brno leading you towards the center. Pass the Nuselský most bridge and keep in the second lane from the left. After you cross the I. P. Pavlova square, turn left in the direction of Plzeň at the first traffic lights, into a street sloping down. From here, follow the main road in the direction of PLZEŇ, cross the Vltava river and pass the Nový Smíchov and Carrefour shopping centers and pass viaducts on your left and keep going until the MOVENPICK hotel appears on your left. Do not turn here, keep going in the direction of PLZEŇ. After you pass two blocks of houses on the left you will see a church with a cemetery - once you pass the church, turn right to Erbenova street and then immediately left again into Holečkova street.
