Shopping

The main Prague shopping area runs down Wenceslas Square, along Na Prikope and into Republic Square. Parizska Street has luxury international boutique shops.

Stores outside of Prague tend to open at 8 or 9 a.m. (large grocery stores at 7 a.m.) and close at 6 or 7 p.m.

Stores in the center of Prague and in shopping malls have longer hours. Small shops in Prague open roughly 08:00/09:00-18:00/19:00. Large supermarkets stay open until 8 or 10 p.m.

Slovanský dům (www.slovanskydum.com.) Probably most popular for its cinema, shopping choices are limited.

Černá růže (www.cernaruze.cz.) Offering a wider selection than Slovanský dům

Myslbek (www.ngmyslbek.cz.) This passage shopping mall is home to a couple larger than normal stores, including an H&M, Intersport, NEXT and Mothercare.

Palác Koruna (www.koruna-palace.cz) sits at the corner of Můstek and Václavské náměstí.

Metropole Zličín (www.metropole.cz/) is an old favorite. They’ve got a couple anchor stores, including ElectroWorld, Interspar and Marks & Spencer.

Centrum Chodov (www.centrumchodov.cz) used to be the new kid in town back in 2005, but it quickly lost that badge with the ever growing stack of indoor shopping outlets.
