Transportation

The Prague public transportation network is efficient and highly integrated, making it easy to travel around the city by metro, tram and bus. The metro, trams and buses are used by two-thirds of Prague's population and cover the majority of the city.

Metro

Then Prague Metro operates 05:00-midnight.
Metro lines run a service every 2-4 minutes during peak hours, and every 4-10 minutes off-peak.

Prague's metro system consists of 3 lines, designated by letters and colours:
A (Green) Skalka - Dejvicka
B (Yellow) Cerny Most - Zlicin
C (Red) Ladvi - Haje

It is fast, clean, and easy to use. Its three lines consist of about 50 km of tracks and some 50 stations.

Trams

Trams cover a large area of the city. Popular tram lines run every 4 minutes during peak hours. Daytime trams run from 4:30 a.m. till midnight in 8-10 min. intervals (8-15 min. on weekends). Night trams (numbers 51-58) run from 00:30 a.m. till 4:30 a.m. in 40 min. intervals.

Trains

Nadrazi Holesovice Train Station
The second train station in Prague is just outside the city centre - metro map (line C).

Buses

Day and night bus service is very similar to that of trams. The interval between most buses is 5 - 15 minutes during morning and afternoon peak hours on working days; buses run every 10 - 20 minutes in morning off-peak periods, every 15 - 30 minutes in the evening and every 10 - 30 minutes on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
